WITCH
The Wolverhampton Instrument for Teaching Computing from Harwell, more commonly known as WITCH or the Harwell Dekatron is an early relay-based computer produced for Nuclear research in Harwell, UK. Currently in fully functional working condition in The National Museum of Computing in Bletchley Park, UK.
Lead creator of the Harwell Dekatron, Ted Cooke-Yarborough wrote in 1953 that "a slow computer can only justify its existence if it is capable of running for long periods unattended and the time spent performing useful computations is a large proportion of the total time available". Not the quickest computer around but a symbol of the large scale remote processing cloud networks of the future and testament of how far computing has come in just 70 years of computing history.
